Proper pages names

So the link should be www.backcountry.ro/proper thats "home" and from there, anything i try to use from the menu it gets me the ?page=x number thing in the URL not www.backcountry.ro/proper/adventures or www.backcountry.ro/proper/about, also if i try to access the adventures page from a new tab i get a 404.

I've trying to set up the permalinks properly but the pages names from the menu do not reflect in the URL. It only lets me add tags or posts.

Hi,
please disable all plugins and go to permalinks where you should choose the post name option, click save and remove browser cache.

it helf worked, as in it no longer displays ?page thingy, but now it's calling all pages "process" and the sub-pages "process/process-2". its not a post category or anything, i've checked, i actually deleted the only post there was so it isnt that either.

help?

As long as the posts,pages or portfolios are not removed from the trash the slug stays.
