  Please open your website in Firefox html mode (CTRL+U) and check html errors you got. Please fix them first and all should be fine.

  There is an HTML error on every page, this could make issues even for editor.

  Please disable all of the plugins(without VC) and try again.

  I was able to solve the VC issue by adding this line in the wp-config.php file:
  define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
  
  

  However, now when I go to edit a page using the VC builder, the block icons are all showing up with x's for all of the icons.
  

  
  

  Also please see this issue: On the wp dashboard, there is a button to "open design options" when
  clicked it goes to a page where it states "Sorry, you are not allowed to
  access this page." What could be causing this issue?

  Sorry but we do not know what this script does. We do not support such changes.

  As Pablo said earlier, this is either a plugin issue or the HTML code errors
