Update from 17.8.3

Hi,

I recently took over design and maintenance of a wordpress website for my client. The BeTheme version that is active is version 17.8.3. I could not find any license code and client had no luck obtaining this from the previous designer.

Therefore I purchased a new license.

But how do I best go about installing/ updating to the most recent version of BeTheme without doing damage to the live site?

Hi,
Here is an instruction on how to update the theme:

Theme updates will not delete your content unless you have changed the files directly in which case we suggest using a child theme.
We also recommend creating a backup file.
Please remove the theme completely from your theme folder and install a fresh copy. Do not overwrite files.

Thanks I got it to work. Was not sure whether previous designer had made some changes to the files.

Now installed the child theme. Should be fine...
