Updates not working after creating an staging site

Greetings,
After making a mistake on my site www.fast2ai.com, I made a clone into staging.fast2ai.com to avoid further damage.

After cloning the site, I re-installed the drone theme using the recommended resetdb plugin (and without deleting the users and the other 2 recommended tables) I re-activated the betheme and tried to make the changes.

However, now when I make a change, the changes are not being saved in the front page at all.
you can see a video of this behavior here:

I Conctacted my host, dailyrazor and they said everything was correctly setup and it was most likely a side effect of the theme.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

My webhost just recommended I enabled Debug Mode on WP.
I did, tried to save and now I get this error which hope it helps:

  • Hello,
Is your WP up to date?
Also, is your PHP Version 7 or higher?
    Thanks
  • I reinstalled everything and have been happily making progress.
I just bumped into a similar situation AGAIN!!!!, which makes it look as if there's definitely a bug in the theme...

here's a video where I make a change to one Our Team item and also change the background of the section and as you can see, I get one but not the other.

Also, did you notice that I stopped at the "clients section" just below are slider revolution?
I had to manually put 4 iconboxes there because I don't find the Clients Section in wordpress.

If you look at my wordpres, you can see testimonials, sliders, templates, etc... but no Clients.

Any help with these 2 items would greatly be appreciated.

  • I turned off debug mode BTW, which is why you don't see the error
  • This is very frustrating...

I used the HIDE section functionality with the clients bar, added a new section at the very top, pressed update button... went back and fixed something in the newly added section, pressed update again

NOW IT DELETED THE CONTACT SECTION WHICH I WAS ASKING ABOUT IN THE VIDEO.
This is at least the 5fth time I've lost something using the template.
  • Hello,
first of all we can see that you are using a localhost installation. We cannot help you with proper configuration of your local server which is clearly badly configured due to the issues you are reporting.
Those issues are not new to us, and they are only caused by hosting options.

Please go to wordpress admin>betheme>system status and check the values, you most likely have 1000 input vars which cause the loss of sections when saving. Increase it to 5000.

It would be also good if you could provide us with a complete list of the settings so we can see what else you could change so the theme will work better. Please follow these instructions:

    1) Go to the Wordpress > Tools > Site Health http://prntscr.com/nlyb22 2) Click at the “Info” on the top of the page and open the “Server” tab http://prntscr.com/nlybm2 3) Take a screenshot of the content inside that ‘Server’ tab http://prntscr.com/nlybyr Please make sure you are using Wordpress 5.2 or later, previous versions did not have this option built in. Please use snag.gy or pasteboard.co to host the screenshot and send us the link to it. Thanks
  • I am NOT using a localhost installation... this is fast2ai.com, as stated in this thread... where do you see localhost?

You were right about the 1,000 php variables, I highly recommend you add it to your installation manual (which I followed), I'll get in touch with dailyrazor in order to increase it.

    server tab:

    Thanks,

  • DailyRazor can't increase the 1,000 max php vars settings, so we're switching webhosts... which one do you recommend, that already does it?

    thanks,

  • dailyrazor was able to solve the issue, everything is working fine.

2 things I'd like clarity on please.
    • You mentioned above that I was using a Localhost Installation
      • Where did you see that so I can correct it?

    Thanks
  • You can use our migrate plugin to move the localhost url to your url.

If you'll have problems with understanding how this plugin works, just give me a note.
    Thanks
  • Pablo,
I'm NOT in localhost, I just want to understand why you guys say I am.

  • It looks like you are (but you are not) because hostings does not have the letter of a hard disk asigned.

Usually, the letter "C" is a domain name of your website.
    Thanks
