Can't Update WP Bakery

Hi there,

I currently have WP Bakery 5.4.7, but need to upgrade to 6.1.

Every time I click update, it says failed. Any suggestions? Certain widgets on my site aren't working:

https://autoloyalty.ca/auto-sales-events/ you can see a big white space where testimonials should be.
Thanks,

Kaitlin

  • Hello Kaitlin,
Please tell me, is there any error message? If so, please send me a link to the screenshot of it.
Also, please disable all of the plugins before doing that.
    Thanks
  • Hi there,

The error message is that the plugin update failed. Do you happen to have a new plugin package I can try re-installing for 6.1?

Heres a link to the page - scroll down, it's supposed to be a testimonials section but it's a large white space now.

    Any suggestions?

  • Can you attach a screenshot of that error message?
Please upload it in the https://prnt.sc and post a link to it in your next reply.

About the second question, I do not see any blank space and any testimonials section.
I do not see this item even on the source code, did you attach it? On which page is it?
    Thanks

I deleted the testimonial section so that the white space is now gone.

I will upload the error message now

    Thanks

  • I do not see the link to the error message.
So, as I see you didn't insert the testimonials yet, do you need help with it?
If so, please insert it once more - I have to check the source code of it.
    thanks
  • I uploaded the error message to that link you sent me.

The issue is that the plugin for wp bakery is out of date, but when I try to update it, it gives me an error message. Here is what the mesaage says:

"An error occurred while updating WPBakery Page Builder: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files."

It doesn't matter about the testimonials section, just how do I get the wp bakery to update to the latest version?

    Thanks

  • Hey, this message could mean that your license key is used on more than one domain. Please use the license manager to handle your license keys: http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest

If you see (on our license manager) that your license key is registered on a single domain, then please disable all of the plugins and deregister that license key (through the BeTheme > Dashboard)

After that, get into the license manager once more, if the license key is still claimed - deregister it, if it’s not, register it again on your domain (through the BeTheme > Dashboard) and try to update your theme/plugins couple of times (usually it pass after 2-3 attempts) - remember, all of the plugins have to be disabled.
    thanks
