Responsive mode stopped working

Hi,
Not sure what happened, but suddenly the iphone (mobile) responsive mode stopped working.  (Yes, I have the Responsive button clicked on).  It won't put the columns under each other and the sidebar should go to the bottom of the page, but it is trying to act like it is in desktop mode.

I commented out any CSS I thought might be causing it, but that didn't work. I even checked it on another mobile phone. I deactivated the Super Cache plug-in. Oh, it looks fine on tablet.

Thank you so much for your help with this.

  • Hello,
Please disable all of the plugins, clear the cache of your browser and check, if the issue still exists.
    Thanks
  • Hi Pablo,
Thanks for your response.  I just went through and deactivated all the active plug-ins with no change to the mobile layout. It seems that the mobile is not working at all, it just displays the desktop version.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Pablo,
    I sent you the information.

  • Can you update your parent to the latest version?
After that, we'll take further investigation.

  • HI Pablo,
I just tried to update the theme from 21.5.2  to 21.5.5.1. , and this is the error message (never had this problem on any of my other WP sites):

The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.

    Enabling Maintenance mode…

    Updating Theme Betheme (1/1)

    Downloading update from https://api.muffingroup.com/theme/download.php?code=8ac1d901-fbc4-4de0-9afe-cd3568739038

    Unpacking the update…

    Installing the latest version…

    Theme update failed.

An error occurred while updating Betheme: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.

    Disabling Maintenance mode…

    All updates have been completed.

Can I download the update from where I purchased it and upload it to the BeTheme folder without wiping anything out?  I  have not changed anything in any of the main files (just added custom CSS to the Theme Options>Custom CSS.)

    Thanks,

    Susan

  • Hey, this message could mean that your license key is used on more than one domain. Please use the license manager to handle your license keys: http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest

If you see (on our license manager) that your license key is registered on a single domain, then please disable all of the plugins and deregister that license key (through the BeTheme > Dashboard)

After that, get into the license manager once more, if the license key is still claimed - deregister it, if it’s not, register it again on your domain (through the BeTheme > Dashboard) and try to update your theme/plugins couple of times (usually it pass after 2-3 attempts) - remember, all of the plugins have to be disabled.
    thanks
  • HI Pablo,
OK, but I ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS buy a new license even if I am using the same theme on a different website. (I have purchased BeTheme now 4 times.)

So on the website: http://api.muffingroup.com/licenses/,  it shows the correct license for the website along with the other 3 websites I have, all correct licenses. However, as you saw when I sent to you the log-on information I am having to use a temporary URL as the old website is still in use until I work out the problem on this one. Could that be the problem?

So again, can I just download the BeTheme package again (I assume my ThemeForest Downloads page has the latest version) and upload it to the server via FTP since I have not overwritten any code?

    Thanks so much.
    Susan
  • You can replace the files (do not overwrite any code), sure - your content will not be lost because it's stored in the database.
But, if this message appears, you should do what I told in the previous post, usually after deregistering and registering it, the error message disappear and you can properly update the theme (usually it pass after 2-3 attempts after registering the theme)
    Thanks
  • Hi Pablo,
I replaced the BeTheme folder with the newer version I downloaded. The responsive website is now working again on my  mobile phone.
    Thanks for your help.
