Content Disappears

Hello, we are having an issue where content we have added to a page (images, text, formatting, etc.) randomly disappears. This is not the result of work being done on the site. We won't have made any updates, and then notice that content is gone. The content is not in the Muffin Builder, it's just gone.

We recently updated the BeTheme thinking this would resolve the issue. It did not.

Obviously, this is a pretty major issue since our website is slowly disappearing. Please advise.

Our site is: https://corporateink.com/

You can see the issue here, the Team section should not having missing spaces, all of that should be full with content: https://corporateink.com/about/

Thank you!

  • Hello,

Please share with us your PHPINFO file. It's really necessary right now.

If you do not know how to do it, please check this topic:

Moreover, please, turn off all of the plugins, refresh your cache and check if the problem persists.

    Thanks

  • Thank yo for your response. Here is the PHPINFO file: https://corporateink.com/phpinfo.php.

I did try disabling the plugins and refreshing the cache, but the content is still missing. It's hard to determine if content will continue to disappear since that seems to take awhile. In the meantime, I did re-enable the plugins so my site would run properly.

    Thanks!

  • I can see that you have a low max input vars value set on your server.

Please, contact your hosting provider to increase the Master Value to at least 5000, and your issue should be gone.

    Thanks

  • I was finally able to change these values with my hosting provider. However, the issue of content disappearing still persists. Please advise.

  • Hey,

Please send us WordPress dashboard access privately thru the contact form, which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact, and we will check what might be the reason.

  • I was on your website, cloned one of the pages (named it MuffinTest) and I started to add some example content and any of them was not disappearing.

Can you show us the page, which is making the problem with disappearing content?

    thanks

  • I am afraid it's a slow burn. You may not notice content disappearing for weeks at a time. Which has made it difficult to troubleshoot. Once the content disappears, it's also gone from the backend, so you can't even see what the content was supposed to be. It's very frustrating.

The About page is the best example I can show you. If you scroll down you'll see staff bios. At one time, there were no "blank" spaces, there were images and content in them. Also, you can see that Abbey Fletcher doesn't have a paragraph below her picture, she did previously, before it disappeared. https://corporateink.com/about/

    Thanks!

  • Well, if you did not resave that page (when the php_max_input_vars value will be crossed), then there is no chance to remove the content of Muffin Builder by BeTheme, because we do not have any method to remove it from the database.

If it will not stop, you surely should contact your hosting provider about it, because it looks like missing record from the database.

Remember, all of the posts, pages, content, theme options are stored in the database.

    thanks

  • I did save that page. I tried to add the content back in and save it, but it didn't work. Do you think that still indicates a database issue?

  • Well, if this happen while saving, it can be the problem of two things: our theme or/and your server - disappearing content usually happen when the php_max_input_vars limit are crossed (to cross it, you'll need to have a really long page) or some characters (in string or shortcode attributes) are not allowed, and server refuse saving.

If there is any way to recreate that issue on your dev site, please tell me, is there any code that makes your content always broke?

I need some steps to know, where the problem lay and prepare proper fix.

    Thanks
