CTRL + Z to "undo" a step, literally removes ALL PROGRESS made on the page.

Hi there,

I've noticed that every single time, I work on a page with the BeBuilder, made hundred micro changes over time and save my progress via the green "Update" button every couple of minutes..

Using the "Undo" shortcut of "Ctrl+Z" literally wipes the page COMPLETELY out. Back to the "+Start creating" screen.

I just did it on my FAQ section and it wiped all of the progress I made in the past 1 hour.

Can you please check what makes this occur? Thank you.

  • Here is a demo of how the pressing CTRL + Z after a few changes completely wipes the section. https://komododecks.com/recordings/Jz0J1ATTz9HnJubzmzrh

  • That may be what happened to me. Using a MAC "CTRL+ Z" page is wiped out completely. lost days of work. And restore doesn't have any content.

  • Hello,

Sorry that it happened to you. This issue will be fixed in the upcoming update.

You can try to restore your work with revisions.

This issue is still at hand and randomly happening in Bebuilder. I have several websites where this problem occurs and multiple users experiencing this, on PC and Mac with CTRL-Z on PC and Command-Z on Mac.

It ALSO sometimes happens while using the undo / revisions arrow.

After this happens and in all cases you cannot restore the work you did. :-(

Using latest WP and Betheme versions

  • Hi @webbabe,

Please switch History mode in BeBuilder to Ajax and check if the same thing happens then.

Thanks for the tip Phil, I will do that and ask my clients i they still experience issues now.

This setting is a global one, so I do not need to do that on every page, correct?

And would be a good idea to have this setting then enabled by default when betheme is installed, to avoid issues. Or is it already so?

Will keep you posted when I have hear back from my clients.

UPDATE: Client reported that it seems to be solved.

  • Hi,

Yes, this is a global option for all pages. If multiple users have access to your site, each can set this option independently.

Both 'History mode' options have their pros and cons. For most users, the 'Default' option, where history is stored in the browser, is sufficient in capacity and is noticeably faster. The 'Ajax' option is intended for users who want more site content. It works slower since it requires a connection to the server. Still, it offers a much larger capacity, independent of browser memory, which may be unavailable sometimes.

    Best regards,

  • Thanks for explaining Albert!
