Updating to version 27.6.5 is breaking site

Hey guys, need some urgent help here. I'm running betheme across multiple sites but for some reason our main site www.banyantreatmentcenters.com is going down when i update to the newest theme version. I haven't changed or edited any of the files in the theme so i'm unsure what could be causing the issue. I was on with tech support from the host proivder (wp engine) and the error is coming from theme itself. When the plugins are turned off the issue persists, and when the theme is switched (and all the plugins are off) the error goes away. The tricky part is that the other sites running the same theme, same plugins etc are unnafected.

There does seem to be an issue with Nitropack specifically where it keeps disconnecting, but i'm hoping you guys can pop in and take a look and see what the issue may be. Also, can we please move this thread to private so it's not visible publicly? Thank you.

I was seeing this in the error logs

  • Hi,

If you want to contact us privately please use the contact form, which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact and we will check what might be the reason.

    Thanks

  • Your SFTP is still valid but i can send again if you need it. Looks like something happened with the theme files (although I didn't personally change anything) possibly got corrupted somehow via update or something?

  • Also getting this error: PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1380352 bytes) in /nas/content/live/banyannational/wp-includes/class-wpdb.php on line 2316

The host techs are confirming that there is some sort of memory leak happening. That is causing the site to crash related to the theme.

What SFTP are you referring to?

  • Hi guys, any update here? This is pretty critical... if we switch all plugins off the problem still persistst where Betheme is giving a critical site error. If we switch the theme it immediately goes away (even if we turn the plugins back on). This definitely seems to be a Betheme Issue. We are running this theme across multiple sites on the same host with no issues. Please update take a look asap.

I was waiting for the answer to my last message because:

    1) I do not remember all the accesses I received.

    2) We do not store them.

    3) If previously you contacted us privately, not through the forum, then I did not handle that because there is another person in charge of the mailbox.

I wanted to clarify this to prevent any future misunderstandings.

But back to the main topic.

Did you change anything in the meantime? We were doing some testing and troubleshooting, but our actions had no effect. However, without our interference, the website started to load correctly after a while.

    Best regards

  • Critical error is back. We continue to check why it happens.

The WP engine triggers the fatal error:

    1. PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant PWP_NAME in /nas/content/live/xxx/wp-content/mu-plugins/wpengine-common/plugin.php:523

Please contact their support regarding it, and to solve this problem.

They have said these are their "mu-plugins" which support things like server security, etc. They have reinstalled them and cleared all caches. I have now updated the theme with no crash, so i think we might be out of the woods! Before I push this to the live environment would you mind scanning for any additional issues since the host is clearly incompetent?

I just want to ensure that if there are any more issues we can iron them out before i push live, and again thank you so much for your help!

  • So quick update... theme is stable and version is current but I am attempting to update the "bebuilder database" as prompted but i can not see if anything his happening, it's been well over 5 mins so not sure if I am just not getting the message that it has been completed, or if it has timed out. Can you guys confirm that is good to go before i push the site to live?

  • ...and final request would you please remove the website url from my original post pls? :)

  • I removed your website name from this topic.

We logged in to check that, and the message is gone, so it is finished now, and you can use it freely.

    Best regards
