How to create and display a portfolio slider

Hello, I bought your Betheme, which I'm enjoying it, however I'm taking a hard time learning how to work with it.

I'm trying to create and display a portfolio slider in a page, like the ones shown here:

I added my images under the gallery (midia), created my Portfolio category, created my  page, then I clicked the Add item option and selected Portfolio Slider, select the portfolio category, saved and published. However, nothing appears on my page.

Please let me know what am I missing and how I can accomplish this?

By the way, the Betheme documentation does not show how to actually use the many features it provides. It only describe the meaning of each field, which actually does not help that much.

Thanks a lot.

  • Hey,

to display portfolio item with Muffin Builder items like Portfolio Slider, you need to add them first under Portfolio section which is located on the left hand side in main dashboard. Is that place where you added all portfolio items?
  • Hi, thanks for your response.

That's exactly what I am doing. Under the Portfolio section, I created one category, then created a new Portfolio. On the Add Media button, I select my images ([gallery ids="127,128,129"]).

My question is: how to show this created portfolio on my page, the same way you're showing here: http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/shortcodes/loops#portfolioslider

  • You are doing it wrong! We suggest to look into doc http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#portfolio where we explained how portfolio works. You can not add images as gallery inside portfolio. Each portfolio item can have ONLY ONE IMAGE which can be set with Featured Image option as it was explained in the doc. When portfolio items would be properly created, then you can go to Muffin Builder which is located under Page Options for each page, and use Portfolio Slider item.
  • Hi, I did what you suggested, and now the Portfolio looks good. So, I created each each Portfolio page and set only one image and also set the Featured Image the same one as the image I select on the Add Media button.

After that, I created the page where I want to also display the Portfolio. So at the middle of the page where I want to show the Portfolio images (logos) I clicked Add Item, then selected the Portfolio Slider option.

One thing that I didn't like is that when I pass the mouse over the images, it shows a magnifier as well as a link icons. Is there a way to remove them?

Also, is there an email I could send you some screenshots?

    Thanks a lot.
  • Please send us link to page where you got portfolio slider and also tell us if you want to remove both links attributes that displays on hover? In reference to screenshots, you can send them us here easily with any online tool like [Links visible only for registered users]
  • Here's the links of the page I'm trying to create.

So when I pass the mouse over the images, it shows those two links as showing here:

So, Is there a way to remove them?

  • But what's the link to page where you got these items?
  • Well, I installed on my local machine (localhost). After having it done I will then upload to live server.
  • I created the portfolio items as instructed, one per image. Then created the page, selected the Portfolio Slider from the Add Item options.
  • Please let us know when site will be online then because we must have a look into code of your site to find the way to remove those icons on hover. Without link to your site, we don't know how to remove them.
  • Well, it'll take a while till I finish the site. However, the icons that appear on mouse hover (either to zoom or open the portfolio item page) seem to be something from the Portfolio itself, or maybe from the Betheme Portfolio Slider, isn't it?

Don't know if this helps, by here's the source code generated from a portofolio item.

    <div class="image_wrapper"><a href="[Links visible only for registered users]"><div class="mask"></div><img width="200" height="90" src="[Links visible only for registered users]" class="scale-with-grid wp-post-image" alt="Mohawk" itemprop="image"></a><div class="image_links double"><a href="[Links visible only for registered users]" class="zoom" rel="prettyphoto"><i class="icon-search"></i></a><a href="[Links visible only for registered users]" class="link"><i class="icon-link"></i></a></div></div>

  • Sorry but the code you left above won't help at all. Like we wrote, we need link to your site because it's important to have a look into code of your site first.
  • Hello,

Since I could not manage to work with Portfolio Sliders, I replaced them by Clients Sliders. However I noticed that the Clients Sliders shows only for clients at a time. Then to view more we hit the Arrow buttons. So my question to you now: is there a way to have more than 4 clients in a row, say 6 clients?

    Thanks a lot.
  • The maximum number of clients items per row is 4. To display more, you must use arrows like you mentioned above.
