Problems with the update on BeTheme to version 14.1

Hi Muffingroup

I made an exact copy of my website www.yogabearpc.com to the location testing.yogabearpc.com

I was running version 12.1 before and am trying to upgrade to version 14.1

The update to 14.1 successfully loaded to testing.yogabearpc.com but I am having some problems and I am hoping you can tell me what is going on.

1)  The title of the page has been replaced with a long php warning

2)  The layout of my main image in upper fold and also the H1 tag in upper fold are now out of allignment

3)  The alignment of the next 3 icon boxes are off just below the upper fold

4)  The 4 icon boxes below that row are also out of alignment

Everything else appears to be normal.

Thank you!

  • Hi,

    1. You are using child theme and the function you use in child theme, mfn_title() is deprecated. Wordpress change the way of displaying titles and now they are doing it themselves and that's why this function is no longer in use.

2,3,4. Would be great if you can switch to parent theme and see if everything appears normal when parent theme is active.
  • Hi Muffingroup -

    1)  I fixed this issue per your advice.  Thank you.

2,3,4) They actually get worse when I switch to the parent theme.  It looks like the changes in my child theme to style sheet etc. that worked on version 12.2 do not work in 14.1.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.
  • 2,3,4) That's totally weird and if you switch to parent theme and it get worse then we really have no idea what might be the reason. What we recommend is to remove parent theme files via FTP and upload the newest one via FTP only once again. Also, please turn off child theme and switch to parent theme only. Hope this would help you because we really don't know what exactly you may did wrong and where.

    Muffingroup -

http://testing.yogabearpc.com    has been updated to latest BeTheme version.

    http://www.yogabearpc.com    is still using 12.2

You can see, I almost have them identical.... all that is off is some of the layout on the home page.

I am dumbfounded as to why the upgrade is messing up my layout.  Please, anything you can do to help would be so appreciated.  Here is a copy of the child theme style.css.  Clearly it works on 12.2 but not 14.1

  • As we see, problems are related with your own customization. We compared for example your file https://www.yogabearpc.com/wp-content/themes/betheme/css/base.css with the copy of our file and for example the following declaration is missing:
    .section.full-width > .section_wrapper { max-width: 100% !important; }
which is responsible for width of first section what means someone modified our theme files.
  • Thank you thank you thank you Muffingroup!!!
