You won't lose anything because everything is stored in the database. It will just change the layout for a second. They you can go back to theme again of course.

Hi, some items are not compatible with VC item and that's why you may not see them. However, tooltip and blockquote are raw shortcodes so you can get them under default WP editor and use with VC.

Latest theme version (9.6) works fine with recent Jetpack 3.7 version. Because we care our customers, we sorted it before Jetpack's plugin author will be able to sort it on plugin's side.

No, it's not that for sure. In our opinion this must be because of cache only. You can try to update to recent theme files and check then.
