Hi, Import/Export copy content only and not SITE Settings. The margin/padding you may refer to might be set globally for site and that's why they are not being copied.

I don't think so. If you have pretty old child theme, there might be problem with some functions that no longer exists. WordPress constantly changes something and functions supported in the past, are not supported any longer.
