You can close this thread. The problem was the max_input_vars in php.ini

Nevermind the save button thing. I thought there would be a green button below the settings. User-logic. The default WP-blue-button will save the settings. Everything works now...

max_input_vars = 5000 worked!!! There is no "save" button, but i can work around that.

max_input_vars = 1000. That is usually enough. It's my own server. I'll try 5000 and see what happends.
