I had that problem also in chrome for android. When the "in construction page" was loaded the page crashed. On PC version it worked ok.

This trick doesn't work for me. What I found and worked, was to create a PHP.INI file in the wp-admin folder with the line: memory_limit = 128M (or whatever you want to make it)
