• Hey there! This post seems old but I have the same situation. False, unmute or 0 values do not work. When I remove muted="muted"  part the video is stuck at the first frame and does not play. Is there any solution to play mp4 with sounds?

• under settings > reading and Your homepage displays you have to set a static page and choose page Home. This solved my problem.
