For a full-width megamenu dropdown, when clicking on the top nav item and your mouse remains on that menu item, the menu appears on load, but is offset. Once the mouse moves, it positions correctly.

That is right, it is the only option to do that with a mega menu.

If the Mega Menu is set to Full width, then there is no option to achieve what you describe, as it in fact takes entire space even when its part is transparent.
