you can use the option to overflow logo in theme options>menu but it will be on all pages, not only on the home page.

This is because all of the dropdowns in the menu contains the "transparency" menu item.

You can always try going to appaerance>menus and changing the name of the HOME menu item. Just paste HTML there, like this: <img src="URL TO IMAGE" />

also, on the iPad, the logo will quickly change size when you load a page, and the logo/top bar area resizes the height when you click through my main menu.
