Duplicated content in footer widgets

Hello. I just installed Be Theme and imported the Eco demo content. This went fine except the first and second footer widget areas are showing duplicated content.  

In the customiser UI I can see that:

Footer #1 has one text element assigned. See http://prnt.sc/di8q01

Footer #2 has a bunch of widgets - search, recent posts, recent comments, categories etc. See http://prnt.sc/di8qhs

The content from Footer #2 is showing in the Footer #1 widget area as well as the Footer #2 area, despite those widgets not being set in Footer #1. See http://prnt.sc/di8qvy

I'm pointing out that footer content is being duplicated with no way for me to remove it. The front-end screenshot - http://prnt.sc/di8qvy - shows this duplicated content, and the other screenshots show the widget settings for Footer #1 and #2. 

If you look at http://prnt.sc/di8q01 you can clearly see it's only loading a simple text widget yet on the front-end a whole bunch of widgets from Footer #2 are showing in the Footer #1 space.

Never mind. If I go to Appearance -> Widgets I can sort it out. Going via the Customiser caused the issue.
