Duplicated content in footer widgets

Hello. I just installed Be Theme and imported the Eco demo content. This went fine except the first and second footer widget areas are showing duplicated content.  

In the customiser UI I can see that:
Footer #1 has one text element assigned. See [Links visible only for registered users]
Footer #2 has a bunch of widgets - search, recent posts, recent comments, categories etc. See [Links visible only for registered users]

The content from Footer #2 is showing in the Footer #1 widget area as well as the Footer #2 area, despite those widgets not being set in Footer #1. See [Links visible only for registered users]
