Problems Updating BeTheme

I cannot get BeTheme to update successfully. When I attempt an update through the Wordpress updates page, it tells me:

"Downloading update from http://api.muffingroup.com/theme/download.php?code=638cc302-3766-42b2-9095-d92cf240d93c

Unpacking the update…

Installing the latest version…

Theme update failed.

An error occurred while updating Betheme: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files."

We are currently running v. 20.4, attempting to upgrade to 26.7.4.

I hope someone can offer some help! We really need to be able to use the Header Builder!

  • Hey,

This message could mean that your license key is used on multiple domains. Please use the license manager to handle your license keys: http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest.

If you see (on our license manager) that your license key is registered on a single domain, then please disable all of the plugins and deregister that license key (through the BeTheme -> Dashboard).

After that, get into the license manager once more. If the license key is still claimed - deregister it. If it’s not, register it again on your domain (through the BeTheme -> Dashboard) and try to update your theme a couple of times (usually, it passes after 2-3 attempts) - remember, all of the plugins have to be disabled.

    Thanks

  • The message I get from the license manager is:

"The purchase code has not been used to register Betheme or the username does not match the purchase code."

Since I am reasonably confident I am using the correct username, I believe the problem is that I have failed to somehow use the purchase code to register Betheme. Can you point me to instructions for how to do that?

  • Please disable all your plugins, deregister the license key in Betheme -> Dashboard, and register it again. After, try to update Betheme again, and when it passes, activate your plugins again.

    Best regards
