  Anyway, are you using that on a regular page, or on a portfolio archive?

  It is not a portfolio archive, is a regular page with 2 elements: portfolio and a filter form.

  AJAX filtering works only on archive pages.

  So it must be either a main portfolio page or a portfolio category.

  Thanks for your answer. Do you have any instructions or guide on how to Create the portfolio category page or archive page that you are suggesting?

  I have 2 special category entries that I was planning to use as a filter to show in each of the 2 pages the corresponding portfolio items. Is this the correct way to separate in two pages the 2 groups of portfolio items?

  Portfolio categories can be added here:

  

  When a category is added, you can create a template specific to that category.
