I just installed the iTheme security plugin which seems to change files within the Wordpress system as you give it permission to. Would a plugin like this also change the theme files?
What's the best course of action to take if upgrading breaks Muffin Builder?
Just updated from a version I'd downloaded on Oct 6 to one from today. I'm still building out the site. The content I'd entered pre-update is still there (had to update my custom styles), and everythign else seems ok, but when I go to edit or add a post or page, the builder isn't working.
EDIT: Solved -- was a file permissions issue. Basically had to go back in under /functions/builder and update all perms to appropriate WP (755 folders, 644 files).
Since your theme has got larger I have had to ftp to update and the update keeps reverting to version 9.5 even though I was running a later version. I have tried updating several times with no luck.
@allant Did you downloaded recent version from TF? If you did, we recommend to remove current theme files from FTP and upload the recent version instead.
Remember to set up chmod on 777 on below folders listed below to show slider thumbnails, and make it possible to edit CSS styles for slider in the admin panel.
wp-content/plugins/revslider/cache
wp-content/plugins/revslider/rs-plugin/css
NOTE! In the default Revolution Slider version included in this theme, you receive every one of our styles for the plugin. When a plugin is updated to a newer version,do not forget to copy slider styles from/revolution-slider-demo/captions.css (this folder is also included in theThemeForest package) to /wp-content/plugins/revslider/rs-plugin/css/captions.css
I see wp-content/plugins/revslider, but no cache or rs-plugin. Did I install something incorrectly?
I made changes in the custom CSS and of course the theme options from the dashboard. Does that count as changes in the theme files? Does that write onto the theme files? Or am I safe to just overwrite via FTP and all those custom settings and CSS made from wordpress dashboard will stay?
@mduuweb No, you did not missed anything because these folders does not exist anymore. All you need to update plugin is overwrite plugin`s file thru FTP. That's it.
@parao Dashboard does not count because all dashboard settings are stored in database and are safe.
i have version 11.5 and i want yo upgrade without lossing my customization, ... the steps are, remplace all the beetheme?? inside wp-content/themeswith the new one??
i do not want to lost my changes!!! where are they saved?
Like we wrote above, if you did not modified any theme files, you won't lose any settings because all are stored in the database. We do not keep any settings in files.
Just updated to the new 11.8 version and something is going bad ...
Apache ErrorLog :
[Mon Feb 15 09:11:55 2016] [error] [client 192.168.100.5] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /var/apache/wordpress-xxxxxxxx/index.php on line 10
So when I press update betheme automatically in evanto toolkit it just goes to error page, it wont let me update the site, how do I do this manually without losing and customizations.
"Download the theme and install it over the current one." so i just place the new folder over top of the old one its just that simple right? Then overrite with new files?
If I made changes to my files in the betheme child folder, will the automatic uddate overwrite them, or only the main theme files ? And will it update the Muffin Editor?
