I have set the portfolio to use the home page as the home page of the portfolio. The home page now has a portfolio widget but I am unable to control the look of the portfolio. There is no spacing?https://reephamtown.co.uk Can this be fixed?

How do you mean create a main page for portfolio? do you mean have the home page as "portfolio grid" wrap. Instead of assigning the "portfolio page" as home page in the portfolio theme options?

i think it could be because the portfolio is set to the home page, is there a way to stop the breadcrumbs saying home for the home page and home for the portfolio home page.
